New Whiteland Police Officer Pulls Family from Burning Home

OFFICER RESCUES FIRE VICTIMS
Midday on Thursday, December 29,
2005, the New Whiteland Police Dispatch received an emergency call reporting a
residence fire on Ashland Avenue in New Whiteland. New Whiteland Police
Officer Kenny Polley responded to the scene, arriving within moments.
Officer Polley found very heavy smoke engulfing the area making it difficult to
breath and see; More importantly, he found there was still people inside the
home. Officer Polley removed at least one young child through a window,
and a woman suffering from severe smoke inhalation and asthma from the burning
home. Despite the dangerous conditions, Polley then returned to the home
again to rescue two pets from the house.
