Crash Results in Serious
Injuries, Snarled Traffic
A late
Sunday evening crash on Interstate 65 north of the 93 mile marker resulted in at
least six people being injured; Some injuries were described as serious trauma
injuries, and some of the injured were young children. Multiple fire
departments and Medics scrambled to the scene to assist the Whiteland Fire
Department and Sheriff's Deputies, who were busy assisting the injured parties
and keeping the scene safe. Fire Medic crews attempted to summons
helicopters from Lifeline and PHI Air Medics but neither service was able to fly
due to incoming severe weather conditions. Medics transported the injured
parties to Riley Hospital Trauma unit and Methodist Hospital's Trauma Center in
Indianapolis.
