JCSO Salutes FPD Officer Brian Goldfarb

JCSO Salutes FPD Officer Brian Goldfarb

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office wishes to salute Franklin Police Officer Brian Goldfarb who volunteered to box in the 2012 Guns & Hoses II Southeast Boxing charity event on May 5, 2012.  After three tough rounds, Brian Goldfarb (wearing blue in the photo) was declared the winner after putting his opponent on the floor more than once.

Guns and Hoses is an annual event where local law enforcement officers have a competitive boxing match against local Firefighters – all in the name of charity.  This charity event raises money for the 911 Gives Hope organization, which is a group of Police Officers, Firefighters and Paramedics dedicated to improving the lives of children and people with disabilities.  911 Gives Hope is a non-profit corporation and no members of 911 Gives Hope receive any type of salary; 100 % of all money donated goes directly to local charity that involves children and people with disabilities.  To date, 911 Gives Hope has raised over $160,000 for local children’s charities. 911 Gives Hope has two major projects that it supports in addition to donating to over 40 other organizations. We are also currently raising money to build a Group Home for persons suffering from Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).

The Sheriff's Office salutes FPD Officer Brian Goldfarb for participating in this great charity event.
