New Deputy Graduates from ILEA
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office offers congratulations
to new Merit Deputy Sheriff Matt Hart as he recently graduated in the 196th
session of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield.
Deputy Hart, 26 years of age, resides in
Greenwood. Hart worked in the Jail
Division of the Sheriff's Office where his work ethic and dedication to duty was
demonstrated since 2009. Hart
stated that his time spent working in the Jail Division will make him a better
officer by teaching him how to handle people in difficult and high stress
Deputy Hart stated that his favorite part of the Indiana
Law Enforcement Academy was the Emergency Vehicle Operations driving course,
while he jokingly quipped that his least enjoyable part was "putting up with
ILEA Staffer Nick Schivarelli."
Hired by Sheriff Doug Cox, Deputy Matt Hart
graduated the academy with a firearms qualification level of Expert, which is
the highest level available. Hart
stated that he is thankful to complete the academy and looks forward for his
opportunity to help the public.
Deputy Hart has begun a multi-phase structured Field Training Program to
fine tune his ILEA training with realistic, on-the-job training with oversight
from trained well-seasoned Sheriff's Deputies. Upon successful completion of the nearly
three month field training process, Deputy Hart will then be released to work
