Protect yourself From Home Invasion
On October 2nd 2013 at 0230 in the morning a burglary/robbery was reported to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. In that incident an aging couple were confronted in their home (Greenwood - White River Township) in the early morning hours and were forced to comply with armed intruders who fled the home after binding the homeowners. Since that time the Indianapolis Police Department has reported at least three of the same type of offenses occurring in their jurisdiction. We wanted to warn Johnson County residents to be on their toes and report any suspicious activities to their local law enforcement agencies. There are steps you can take to slow down these thieves and protect yourself and your family. 1). Alarm systems. 2). Dead bolts locks. 3). Steel doors. 4). Motion detection lighting. 5). Video cameras. 6). Door stops. 7). Good dog! 8). Firearms. We want everyone to feel safe and secure in their homes. We as a law enforcement agency will do our best to keep these individuals out of the county and out of your homes.
