CRIME ALERT
THEFT OF TOOLS, ATV'S, & ENCLOSED CARGO BOX
TRAILERS
If you have an enclosed cargo box trailer or
live nearby someone who does, read carefully: The Sheriff's Office
continues to investigate a rash of thefts from enclosed cargo box trailers.
The items most frequently stolen are power tools, other construction equipment,
and all terrain vehicles. In several instances, the suspects have hitched
onto the trailer and stolen the entire trailer. While this is a
multi-agency, multi-county trend, there are specific areas that should be on
high alert for suspicious activity related the to the theft of Cargo trailers:
Residents in Johnson County in neighborhoods
and subdivisions along County Line Road and Morgantown Road should be on high
alert and should IMMEDIATELY report suspicious activity or persons in their area
by calling the Johnson County Sheriff's Emergency Communications Center at 9-1-1
or 317-736-5155. Do not approach suspicious persons or give any indication
to them that you are calling law enforcement. Be careful not to activate
any additional lights that might scare them off before Sheriff's Deputy's arrive
to check them out.
While there are many people and vehicles
involved in these thefts, one recent theft involved an early 90's model dark Red
Chevrolet Pick-up truck with loud exhaust pipes occupied by two white males.
Most of these thefts are occurring in the
overnight hours between midnight and 5:00 A.M.
REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY IMMEDIATELY!
