JCSO Conducts Speed Study on 300W just south
of the Indian Creek Schools
Responding to citizens complaints of speeding vehicles,
the Johnson County Sheriff's Office has conducted a speed study on County Road
300W just south of the Indian Creek Intermediate School in Hensley Township.
The speed limit is posted as 30 miles per hour. Between March 22, 2004 and
March 30, 2004, this agency clocked 13,527 vehicles. Of those vehicles,
12,705 were exceeding the posted speed limit. The AVERAGE SPEED for the
entire study was 47 miles per hour (17 miles per hour above the speed limit).

The Sheriff's Office has begun detailing extra patrols in the area to stop and
cite violators of the 30 mile per hour Speed Limit.
