Smith Valley Road is CLOSED
(May 10, 2004)

The long-awaited and behind schedule Smith Valley Road Construction Project has once again re-commenced. Smith Valley Road is now closed to all thru traffic. Available detour routes are marked and relatively easy to navigate. Motorists who must travel the area are advised to allow extra time to arrive at your destination. Sheriff's Deputies' will be positioned in the Construction Zone to make sure no one drives around the Road Closed barrels and barricades; Drivers who do choose to disregard the Road Closed signs and markings will be cited for Disregarding a Traffic Control Device, ticketed, and fined. There will be NO WARNINGS given to violators. Sheriff's Deputy's will also be patrolling the adjacent residential neighborhoods to the marked detours to make certain that those who choose to bypass intersections by cutting through subdivisions are not exceeding the 25 mile per hour speed limit zones. Tickets are very costly, so save yourself some hefty court fines and SLOW DOWN to arrive safely. Thank you for your cooperation.
